Overview

The F16 drone is a sophisticated aerial device designed for users aged 14 and above, offering a blend of intuitive control and advanced flight capabilities. Before operating, users are advised to read the manual thoroughly and retain it for future reference to ensure safe and optimal performance.

Function Description

The F16 drone is primarily designed for aerial photography and videography, equipped with a 1080P camera that offers a 90° Field of View (FOV) and a controllable pitch range from -90° to 0°. It supports both JPEG for photos and MP4 for videos, allowing users to capture high-quality aerial content. The drone operates with a 2.4 GHz camera frequency and offers a First Person View (FPV) distance of up to 300m in outdoor, unobstructed environments.

The drone's flight is managed via a remote control that features a comprehensive display screen providing real-time flight information. Key functions accessible through the remote include:

  • One Key Return: Allows the drone to automatically return to its take-off point, effective in GPS mode.
  • Headless Mode: Simplifies flight control by eliminating the need to orient the drone's front, making it easier for beginners. This mode is activated by a long press and is only available in indoor mode.
  • Speed Switch: Offers three distinct speed gears, allowing users to adjust the drone's flight speed according to their skill level and environmental conditions. Gear 1 is the default and recommended for beginners, especially in indoor settings.
  • Obstacle Avoidance Mode: Automatically activates in indoor mode, ensuring a safe flight by detecting and reacting to surrounding obstacles. The drone slows down and hovers when close to obstacles, emitting an alarm sound from the remote control.
  • Gyroscope Calibration: Essential for stable flight, this function ensures the drone's gyroscopes are properly calibrated before take-off.
  • Geomagnetic Calibration: Another critical pre-flight calibration step that involves rotating the aircraft horizontally and vertically to ensure accurate compass readings.
  • One Key Take-off/Landing: Simplifies the process of initiating and concluding flights, especially useful for new pilots.
  • Emergency Stop: A safety feature that allows immediate termination of flight, particularly useful when the drone is at low altitudes.
  • Camera Pitch Control: Enables users to adjust the camera's up and down shooting angle directly from the remote control.

The F16 also integrates with a dedicated mobile application, "G07 Drone," available on both App Store and Google Play. This app expands the drone's functionality, offering an intuitive operation interface with features such as:

  • Home Page: Provides an overview of the drone's status.
  • Flight Height and Distance Display: Shows real-time flight metrics.
  • Vertical and Horizontal Speed Display: Informs users about the drone's movement speed.
  • GPS and WiFi Signal Indicators: Ensures connectivity and positional accuracy.
  • Drone Battery Power Indicator: Keeps users informed about remaining flight time.
  • Settings: Allows customization of various drone parameters.
  • More Functions: Includes advanced flight modes like "Follow Me," "Waypoints," and "Point of Interest."
  • Live Map: Displays the drone's position on a map.
  • Photo/Video Mode and Shutter: Facilitates capturing media directly from the app.
  • Media Gallery: For reviewing captured photos and videos.
  • Unlock: To arm the drone motors.
  • Flip Image: For adjusting image orientation.
  • VR Mode: For an immersive flight experience.
  • Gestures Photo/Video: Allows taking photos or videos using hand gestures.
  • Music: Potentially for background music during video recording or playback.

Usage Features

The F16 drone is designed for ease of use, from initial setup to advanced flight maneuvers.

  • Battery Installation and Charging: The remote control requires three AA batteries, installed according to polarity. The drone battery is an 1800mAh Li-Po unit, which needs to be removed from the aircraft for charging. It connects to a USB charging cable, which should be plugged into a 5V/2A USB power supply. Charging takes approximately 150 minutes for about 15 minutes of flight time.
  • Aircraft Assembly: Propellers are clearly marked (A/B) and must be installed in the correct direction, secured with screws. The drone itself is foldable for compact storage and transport.
  • Remote Control Setup: The mobile phone rack pulls out to securely hold a smartphone, and grips are installed under the controller for ergonomic handling.
  • Pairing: The drone and remote control automatically pair after both are powered on. A "beep" sound from the remote indicates successful pairing.
  • GPS Mode (Default): The drone defaults to GPS mode upon power-on, which is crucial for outdoor flight stability and features like One Key Return. For indoor flight, users must manually switch to Indoor mode.
  • Low Voltage Return to Home (RTH): The drone features a multi-stage low voltage RTH system. In the first stage, indicated by a symbol on the controller screen and a "beep" alarm, the drone will automatically return within a 20m height and distance fence. In the second stage, indicated by rapidly flashing lights and a "beep-beep" alarm, the drone will automatically return, though ascent and descent control may be limited, and obstacle avoidance is not guaranteed.
  • Failsafe RTH: If the remote control loses connection with the drone, the drone will automatically initiate a return to its Home Point, accompanied by an alarm sound from the remote. This can be exited by re-establishing connection and pressing the RTH button or moving the Throttle Joystick.
  • Advanced Flight Modes (via App):
    • Follow Me: The drone follows the user, maintaining a distance of 5m-20m. This function is not available if the drone battery is low.
    • Waypoint Flight: Users can draw a path on the app's map, and the drone will fly along the specified route. It's recommended to enlarge the map for precision. This feature is also disabled with low drone battery.
    • Point of Interest: The drone will fly in a circle around a designated point, with a radius of approximately 5m. This feature is not available with low drone battery.
    • Gesture Control: Allows users to take photos or videos using specific hand gestures, effective from 2m away.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of the F16 drone.

  • Battery Care: Newly purchased batteries may have low voltage and should be fully charged before first use. Regular charging and replacement of depleted batteries are essential.
  • Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for deformation. Damaged propellers should be replaced to prevent unstable flight and vibrations.
  • Calibration: Gyroscope and geomagnetic calibrations are critical pre-flight checks that should be performed to ensure stable and accurate flight. If the aircraft drifts in one direction or loses balance after a fall, re-calibration or rebooting is necessary.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a problem-solving guide for common issues, such as unresponsive operation, no power, motors not rotating, vibrations, or drifting. This guide helps users diagnose and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Customer Service: Attop provides 24/7 assistance through their website, phone, and email, offering support for any issues or queries.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a 30-day whole unit warranty for quality-related issues, offering a replacement. Additionally, there's a 90-day accessory warranty for quality-related issues, also offering a replacement. Users are reminded to operate and maintain the drone as directed to ensure warranty validity.
