4 8 Openin g and clo sing
Valet parking
Applies to vehicles: with fold ing and lockable rear seat-
backs
Through the "valet parking" feature the lug-
gage compartment of your vehicle is secured
from unauthorized access during the valet
parking service.

W ith "valet parking" activated, the rear lid
cannot be opened .

.. Open the glove box c;, page 76 and acti-
vate ¢

light in the switch ill uminates.
.. Close t he glove box and loc k it wit h the me-
chanical key.
.. Lock both rear seatbacks with the mechani-
cal key

.. Lock the luggage compartment pass-
t hrough with the mechanical key

.. Leave the master key with the service per-
sonnel for parking and keep the mechanical
key w ith you.
When the "valet parking " feature is activated :
- the unlocking button for the rear lid~ in
the driver's door is inactive
- the button~ on the maste r key is inactive
- the opening hand le in the rear lid is inactive .
The vehicle can be driven and locked and un-
locked w it h t he master key. Access to t he lug-
gage compartmen t is blo cked.
When the valet parking featu re is activated,
the message
Valet parking activated appears
in the instr ument cluster disp lay when you
switch the ignition on .
Sliding/tilting sunroof

.. The sunroof can be t ilted or closed only in
switch posit ion @ ¢

.. To set an int ermediate positio n, press/pull
the switch unt il the roof reaches the desired
position.
Opening
.. To move t he sunroof to t he posit ion for re-
duced w ind noise, turn t he switch to posi-
tion (!) until resistance can be f elt .
.. To open the sunroof completely, turn and
hold the switch against the resistance in po-
sition @ .
.. To close the sunroof, turn the switch to po-
sition @
c;, &.-
.. An intermediate position can be set by tur n-
ing the switch to the desired position .
After the ignition is switched off, you can still
operate the sliding/tilti ng sunroof for about
10 mi nutes . As soon as t he drive r's or pas-
senger's door is opened, the switch is inopera-
t ive.
Sunshade for glass sunroof*
The sunshade can be opened and closed man-
ually in any posit ion. When openi ng the sun-
roof, the sunshade is automatically opened . ..,_
