SYMPTOM
Several pulls required
to set rivet
Jaws will not grip rivet
stem
Jaws will not release
spent rivet stem.
Spent rivet stem is

POSSIBLE CAUSE
➝ Low air pressure.
➝ Lack of lubrication.
➝ Worn or broken jaws.
➝ Oil level in tool low or air in oil.
➝ Worn or dirty jaws.
➝ Worn or dirty jaws.
➝ Jaw housing loose.
➝ Weak or broken nose assembly spring.
➝ Incorrect nose equipment fitted.
➝ Bent jaw spreader assembly tube preventing it from
moving forward into jaw housing.
➝ Dirty jaws or jaw housing.
➝ Jaw housing, nose tip or nose casing not properly seated.
➝ Weak or broken spring around jaw spreader assembly.
➝ Tool overprimed.
➝ Incorrect jaw spreader fitted.
➝ Bent or dirty jaw spreader assembly tube.
➝ Collector bottle too full.
➝ On 07347 tools, valve adjusting screw 69
➝ out of adjustment.
➝ Lack of lubrication.
REMEDY
➝ Increase air pressure.
➝ Lubricate tool at air inlet point.
➝ New jaws.
➝ Prime tool. (see page 29)
➝ Clean jaws.
➝ Clean or renew as necessary.
➝ Tighten against nylon locking ring.
➝ Replace spring.
➝ Replace as necessary.
➝ Replace jaw spreader assembly.
➝ Clean.
➝ Tighten nose equipment.
➝ New spring.
➝ Reprime.
➝ Replace by correct part.
➝ Renew or clean as applicable.
➝ Empty and ensure bottle never exceeds half full.
➝ Adjust.
➝ Lubricate tool at air inlet.
