Carrying out the
descaling programme
When the “Descaling necessary”
LED

is illuminated, this means
that the descaling programme must be
carried out. The programme lasts for
approximately 20 minutes.
1. Switch on the tea maker.
2. Open the pod compartment

remove the sealing lm and insert a
cleaning pod.
The LED “Descaling necessary”
begins to ash and the
On/O button

illuminates.
3. Press the On/O button to start the
descaling programme.
The LED “Descaling necessary” will
ash throughout the entire cleaning
programme.
The LED “Water tank empty”

will go out.
4. Empty the water tank

remove the water lter, if necessary.
5. Pour 250 ml of Avoury liquid desca-
ling agent and an additional 250 ml
of tap water into the water tank.
6. Replace the water tank again.
The LED “Empty pod basket”

7. Empty the drip tray and the pod
basket

8. Replace both parts again.
9. Place a container that holds at least
300 ml volume under the outlet

Descaling takes place in 250 ml
cycles. Once the descaling liquid
has passed through the system, it is
released into the container. Once a
cycle has been completed, the con-
tainer must be emptied and placed
under the outlet again. At this point,
press the On/O button to conrm
that the next cycle can begin. This
process should be repeated until
the water tank has been emptied
entirely.
After the rst part of the descaling
programme has been completed,
the “Water tank empty”

10. Remove the water tank and tip away
the remaining liquid.
11. Rinse out the water tank with fresh
tap water.
12. Empty the container and place it
back under the outlet.
13. Fill the water tank with 500 ml tap
water and put it back in again.
The tea maker rinses the brewing
unit in 250 ml cycles with clear tap
water. The tap water that passes
through runs into the container.
Once a cycle has been completed,
the container must be emptied and
placed under the outlet again. At
this point, press the On/O but-
ton to conrm that the next cycle

18. Remove the water tank and pour out
any remaining liquid.
19. Rinse the water tank with fresh tap
water.
20. Put the water lter back into the
water tank if required.

fresh tap water and put it back in the
machine. The LED “water tank empty”
/ goes o.
22. Empty the collecting vessel and
remove the capsule drawer.
23. Empty the drip tray if necessary.
Then reinsert the drip drawer
and put the collecting vessel back
under the outlet.
24. The LED “empty capsule container”
/ goes o and rinsing begins
automatically.
Info: Rinsing is carried out in two
cycles. The liquid that has run through
the machine ows into the collecting
vessel. When rinsing is nished the
descaling capsule is ejected.
25. The rst cycle is nished when the
Start-Button / lights up
continuously.
26. Empty the collecting vessel and put
it back under the outlet.
27. Then press the Start-Button /
to start the second cycle.
28. When the second cycle is nished
the capsule is ejected automatically.
The LED “carry out descaling”
/ goes o and the

continuously.
The descaling programme is nished.
