Anindustrialcomplexwithalongroadbetweentwowarehouseshasinstalledaradartohelpenforceaspeedlimitof60km/h(37
mph).IntheRoadmonitoringprole,theradarcandetectwhenavehicleinitsdetectionzoneexceedsthatspeed.Itthentriggersan
eventwhichsendsanemailnoticationstodriversandmanagers.Thereminderhelpsincreasecompliancewiththespeedrestrictions.
Unwantedvehiclesonaclosedroad
Asmallroadouttoanoldquarryhasbeenclosed,however,reportsofvehiclesdrivingontheroadhaveresultedinauthorities
installingasecurityradarintheRoadmonitoringprole.Theradarismountedalongsidetheroadandcoverstheentirewidthof
theroad.Wheneveravehicleentersthescenario,ittriggersaashingbeaconthatwarnsdriverstoleavetheroad.Italsosendsa
messagetothesecurityteamsothattheycandispatchaunitifneeded.
Speedawarenessontheroad
Aroadthatpassesthroughasmalltownhashadsomeincidentsofspeeding.Toenforcethespeedlimitof70km/h(43mph),the
trafccontrolhasinstalledasecurityradar,intheRoadmonitoringprole,onabridgethatcrossesovertheroad.Thishas
allowedthemtodetectthespeedthatvehiclesaretravellingatandmonitorwhentheyshouldhaveunitsstationedlongthe
roadtocontrolthetrafc.
Safetywithhumansandvehicles
Staffataschoolhaveidentiedtwosafetyissuesthattheywouldliketoaddress.Theyhaveexperiencedunwantedvisitorsentering
thepremisesduringtheschoolday,aswellasvehiclesviolatingthelowspeedzoneof20km/h(12mph)outsidetheschool.The
radarismountedonapole,nexttothepedestrianwalkpath.TheAreamonitoringproleonpage5waschosen,asitmakes
theradarcapableoftrackingbothhumansandvehiclesmovingatspeedslowerthan55km/h(34mph).Thishelpsthestaff
keeptrackofpeoplecomingandgoingduringschoolhourswhilealsobeingabletotriggeraspeakertowarnpedestrianswhen
apassingvehicleisdrivingtoofast.
