Theltersizecanalsobesetbyenteringavaluebetween10and50intheeld.Thevaluecorrespondstothedistancefromthe
centerofthecrosstooneofthearrowheads.Thevalue100impliesthatanobjectmusttravelfromitsinitialpointtoonethirdofthe
imagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.Thevalue50implieshalfthatdistance,thatis,theobjectmusttraveladistanceof
onesixthoftheimagewidthorheightbeforebeingdetected.
Short-LivedObjectIgnoreFilter
Theshort-livedobjectlterisusedtoavoiddetectingobjectsthatonlyappearforashortperiodoftime,suchaslightbeamsfroma
passingcarandquicklymovingshadows.Usethelterifsuchobjectscausealotoffalsedetections.
Whentheshort-livedobjectlterisenabledandtheapplicationndsamovingobject,theobjectwillnotbereportedasdetected
(redpolygoninvisualconrmation)untilthesettimeaspassed.Thealarmsentbytheapplicationwillbesentwhentheobjectis
detected.Ifthealarmisusedtostartarecording,congurethepre-triggertimesothattherecordingalsoincludesthetimethe
objectmovedinthescenebeforebeingdetected.
Toenablethelter:
1.SelecttheShort-livedobjectsoption.
2.Enterthenumberofsecondsintheeld.Thenumberofsecondsistheminimumtimethatmustpassbeforetheobjectis
detected.Startwithasmallnumber.
3.ClickSavetoapplythelter.
4.Usevisualconrmationtoverifythesettings.
5.Iftheresultisnotsatisfactory,increasetheltersizeinsmallsteps.
SmallObjectIgnoreFilter
Thesmallobjectlterisusedtoavoiddetectingobjectsthataretoosmall.Forexample,ifonlymovingcarsshouldbedetected,the
smallobjectltercanbeusedtoavoiddetectingpeopleandanimals.
Ifusingthesmallobjectlter,takeintoconsiderationthatanobjectfarfromthecameraappearssmallerthananobjectclosetothe
camera.Ifthelterissettoignoreobjectsthesizeofaperson,peoplethatareclosetobecameracanstillbedetectedbecause
theyarelargerthantheltersize.
Toenablethelter:
1.SelecttheSmallobjectsoption.
2.Clickonthe
icontoshowtheltersizeintheimage.
3.Usethemousetoadjusttheltersize.Startwithasmallsize.Movingobjectsthattinsidetherectanglewillbeignored.
Thelterdisplayedintheimagecanbemovedtomakeiteasiertocomparetheltersizewiththesizeofobjects
intheimage.Notethatthelterwillbeappliedtoallobjectsintheimage,alsotoobjectsthatarenotlocatedat
thepositionofthedisplayedlter.
4.ClickSavetoapplythelter.
5.Usevisualconrmationtoverifythesettings.
6.Iftheresultisnotsatisfactory,increasetheltersizeinsmallsteps.
Theltersizecanalsobesetbyenteringthewidthandheightintheelds.Thewidthandheightarethemaximumwidthand
maximumheightoftheobjectstoignoreandaremeasuredinpercentoftheimagewidthandheight.Valuesbetween5and100
canbeused.
