Performanceconsiderations
Whensettingupyoursystem,itisimportanttoconsiderhowvarioussettingsandsituationsaffecttheperformance.
Somefactorsaffecttheamountofbandwidth(thebitrate)required,otherscanaffecttheframerate,andsomeaffect
both.IftheloadontheCPUreachesitsmaximum,thisalsoaffectstheframerate.
Thefollowingfactorsarethemostimportanttoconsider:
•Highimageresolutionorlowercompressionlevelsresultinimagescontainingmoredatawhichinturn
affectsthebandwidth.
•RotatingtheimageintheGUIwillincreasetheproduct'sCPUload.
•Removingorattachingthecoverwillrestartthecamera.
•AccessbylargenumbersofMotionJPEGorunicastH.264clientsaffectsthebandwidth.
•Simultaneousviewingofdifferentstreams(resolution,compression)bydifferentclientsaffectsbothframe
rateandbandwidth.
Useidenticalstreamswhereverpossibletomaintainahighframerate.Streamprolescanbeusedto
ensurethatstreamsareidentical.
