AudioModes
TheAxisproductsupportsthefollowingaudiomodes:
•Fullduplex–Simultaneoustwo-wayaudioallowingtheAxisproducttotransmitandreceiveaudioatthesametime.
Thereisnoechocancellation;iffeedbackloopsappear,trymovingthemicrophoneorthespeaker.
•Half-duplex–AudiocanbetransmittedtoandfromtheAxisproductbutonlyinonedirectionatatime.Totransmit
audiousingtheLiveViewpage,usetheTalkandListenbuttons,seeAMCAudioControlsonpage12.
•Simplex–NetworkCameraspeakeronly-AudioistransmittedfromaclienttotheAxisproductandcanbeplayedby
aspeakerconnectedtotheproduct.TotransmitaudiousingtheLiveViewpage,theTalkandMicrophoneonbuttons
mustbothbeactive,seeAMCAudioControlsonpage12.
•Simplex–NetworkCameramicrophoneonly-Audiocapturedbytheproductmicrophoneistransmittedfromthe
Axisproducttooneormoreclients.

SelectMicrophonetouseanexternalmicrophoneorLinetouseaLineindevice,e.g.anaudiomixerformultiplemicrophones
oramicrophonewithabuilt-inamplier,asaudiosource.
TheMicrophonepoweroptionprovidesDCpowerforanexternalmicrophone.Microphonepowershouldonlybeusedwith
microphonesthathavenobattery.Thissettingshouldnotbeenabledwhenusingadynamicorbatterypoweredmicrophone.
Touseaprofessionalmicrophonerequiring48Vphantompower,youneedanexternalpowersupplyandabalanced-unbalanced
converter(audiotransformer)inbetween.
UsetheInputgaintocontrolthevolumeoftheaudioinput.Ifthesoundistoolow,chooseahigherdBvalue,toamplifythe
sound.Ifthesoundistoohigh,choosealowerdBvalue.TheLevelbargivesavisualrepresentationoftheaudiosignallevelindB
relativetothefull-scaleinputlevel.
•Green—thesignalisatagoodlevel.
•Yellow—thesignalisbecomingdistorted.
•Red—thesignalisdistorted.
