CHECKING & CLEANING AIR FILTER
1- Locate air lter which is attached to carburetor under gas tank.
2- Remove air lter by loosening clamp holding lter in place
3- Once foam lter is removed, remove outer foam lter sleeve, check lter
for damage or tears. If lter is damaged or torn, replace.
5- Gently wash foam air lter and outer foam sleeve with clean, non-
ammable (high ash point) solvent such as kerosene.
6- Once Foam air lter is clean and dry, pour foam air lter oil over entire
area of lter. Gently squeeze out any excess oil.
7- Re-install air lter making sure it is seated correctly and that outer foam
sleeve is back place.
CAUTION
The air lter element must be intact or the engine will suck in dust and dirt,
resulting in a shorter service life of the engine.
Water should be prevented from entering into the lter when washing the vehicle.
The lter element shall be cleaned gently without twisting to prevent it from
cracking. Never wash it with gasoline or any acid, alkaline or organic volatile oil to
avoid its aging, which will result in reducing the effect of the air lter oil to catch
particles before they enter the engine. Replace the lter element with a new one if
it is broken or cracked.
