5. Tail rotor assembly
The picture above illustrates the assembly of the tail rotor. Lightly grease the thrust
bearing 5x10x4
(B-L06)
and slide it on with the smaller side (smaller outer diameter)
facing outward. Similar to the assembly of the main rotor head, insert the thrust bear-
ing and the outer ball bearing with a tilting movement.
Repair information: Should the ball bearing 5x10x4
(B-L14)
be damaged due to a
crash you can easily knock it out with a smaller shaft. Lightly heating the blade hold-
ers facilitates exchanging the ball bearings.
Warning: Make sure that the bearings and the thrust washers are correctly posi-
tioned. Otherwise the blade holders may clamp during operation resulting in a failure
of the tail rotor.
