7. Final assembly
Start with sliding the pre-assembled rotor head onto the main rotor shaft. Make sure
that the upper drilling is centred in the opening for the main rotor bearing. Please
grease both sides of the main rotor bearing before. It is a very robust bush bearing
and you may find dark-coloured grease being pressed out of it at the beginning. This
is absolutely normal. You can wipe it off it with a cloth and cleaning solvent. The main
rotor bearing is kept in place by a special bolt M5 x 21,5
(B-S03)
. Tighten it carefully
and secure with Loctite medium-strength.
Now press the ball sockets of the SP-towing arm on the ball studs of the swashplate.
Screw the rotor head connecting rods to the ball joints M2,5
(B-D18)
setting their length
to 60,5 mm (measure outer end). We recommend to use a special ball link driver.
Since it is a right-hand/left-hand thread both rods can be adjusted 100 % identically.
Before mounting, apply some lubricant on the thread. Press them on the remaining
ball studs of the swashplate and the blade holders.
Please measure the length with a sliding calliper and do not take into account any
excess length of the injection moulding. Cut off any excess length with a sharp cutter.
