Continue with mounting the tail rotor housing on the tail boom. The boom has pre-
drilled holes. Apply some Loctite medium-strength around the boom end and push
the boom into the tail rotor housing as far as it will go. Align with the drillings. Wipe off
any excess Loctite.
Repair information: If you want to disassemble the housing you need to heat it with
a heat gun to loosen the Loctite. Then put a cloth around the hot rotor housing and
remove it from the tail boom.
Be sure to strictly adhere to the indicated order for the following screwings. Screw the
bellcrank bracket to one side of the tail rotor housing using a cylinder head bolt hex
M3 x 8
(B-S36)
and align with the second through-hole. Repeat for the tail fin using a
cylinder head bolt hex M3 x 6
(B-S35)
on the opposite side of the tail rotor housing. Put
a cylinder head bolt hex through each through-hole and secure with a hex lock nut
M3
(B-S19)
in the tail boom. Use a cylinder head bolt hex M3 x 10
(B-S30)
on the side of
the bellcrank and a cylinder head bolt hex M3 x 8
(B-S36)
on the side of the tail fin. You
can use either needle-nose pliers or a ring spanner to tighten the hex lock nut. We
recommend to apply a small amount of Loctite medium-strength on the screws.
Pull the tail belt through the tail boom without crimping it.
