Inserting a side zipper
- Baste the zipper opening on the garment.
- Fold back to the left seam allowance.
Turn under the right seam allowance to
form 3mm fold.
- Attach the zipper foot. Attach the right side
of the presser foot pin to the holder when
sewing the left side of the zipper.
Attach the left side of the presser foot pin
to the presser foot holder when sewing the
right side of the zipper.
- Stitch the left side of zipper from bottom to
top.
- Turn the fabric right side out, stitch across
the lower end and right side of zipper.
- Stop about 5cm (2 inches) from the top of
zipper. Remove the basting and open the
zipper. Stitch the remainder of the seam.
