Why does my Bernina Sewing Machine skip stitches?
    • D
      Diamond MercerAug 17, 2025
Skipped stitches can occur if the needle and/or threads aren't suitable for the fabric, a blue shank needle isn't used for stretch/fine fabrics, the thread isn't threaded properly, a poor-quality needle is used, or the thread tension is too tight.

What to do if buttonhole sewing is not sewn properly on my Bernina Sewing Machine?
    • P
      Patricia StarkAug 20, 2025
If buttonhole sewing isn't sewn properly, it could be because the stitch density isn't suitable for the fabric or if suitable interface material hasn't been used for stretch or synthetic fabric. In both cases, use an interfacing.

Why does the needle thread keep breaking on my Bernina Bernette b37 Sewing Machine?
    • J
      Jamie JenkinsAug 26, 2025
The needle thread may break for several reasons. It could be due to improper threading, thread tension being too tight, a bent or blunt needle, incorrect needle insertion, failure to set the needle and bobbin thread under the presser foot before starting, not drawing threads to the rear after sewing, or using a thread too heavy or fine for the needle. In any of these cases, change the needle.

      Sandra RodgersAug 28, 2025
A needle can break for several reasons: incorrect insertion, a loose needle clamp screw, failure to draw threads to the rear after sewing, using a needle too fine for the fabric, an inappropriate presser foot for the stitch pattern, or if the needle is bent or blunt. In some of these cases, you should use proper foot. In other cases, change the needle.

    • S
      sarahhendersonAug 30, 2025
The bobbin thread may break if it's not threaded properly in the bobbin holder, if lint has collected in the bobbin holder, if the bobbin is damaged and doesn’t turn smoothly, or if the thread is wound loosely on the bobbin. In all of these cases, replace the bobbin.
