CHAPTER 5: Troubleshooting
5. Troubleshooting
The first three sections of this chapter discuss some
of the problems that can arise in a ServSwitch Spectra
system and suggest possible causes and solutions. If the
trouble you’re having with the Spectra is something you
haven’t seen before, or if the trouble seems minor, try
the procedures detailed in Section 5.1 and (if that
doesn’t work) Section 5.2 before doing anything else.
If the trouble is chronic, see Section 5.3.
Sections 5.4 and 5.5 discuss what’s involved in
calling Black Box and shipping your Spectra.
NOTE
Like many other electronic products with non-grounded
plastic enclosures, the ServSwitch Spectra can be
susceptible to static discharges. On rare occasions,
such discharges might cause the Spectra to crash. If
this happens, pressing the Spectra’s reset button (see
Section 5.1) should restore the unit to normal operation.
