Overview

The BLANCO BOSE900X is a 90cm built-in electric oven designed for domestic household use, offering a range of cooking functions and features for efficient and versatile meal preparation.

Function Description:

The oven provides multiple cooking functions, each tailored for specific culinary needs. The Light Only function illuminates the oven interior. The Conventional function utilizes both lower and upper heating elements, along with the oven lights and thermostat, for even heat distribution, ideal for cakes, biscuits, pastries, baked pasta, casseroles, and roasts. The Steam Clean function uses the lower heating element, oven lights, and thermostat to help loosen oils and dried food from the oven interior, facilitating easier cleaning. The Upper Element function, primarily for grilling, uses the upper heating element, oven light, and thermostat, suitable for toasting bread, cheese melts, and browning dishes. The Maxi-Grill function activates both upper heating elements, oven light, and thermostat for faster grilling of larger quantities of food, perfect for browning meats, chicken, seafood, and fruit crumbles. The Maxi-Grill with Fan combines the grill element, upper heating element, and fan for complete, fast, and all-over grilling, achieving crispy skin on chicken and browning meats and seafood. The Fan Assist function circulates heat from the lower and upper heating elements using the fan motor and blade, enhancing thermal radiation and preventing surface burning, suitable for pastries. The Fan Forced function employs the turbo heater and fan to evenly disperse heat throughout the oven, allowing for cooking multiple dishes on various shelves simultaneously. Finally, the Defrost function activates the fan and oven lights to gently defrost frozen food.

The oven features a 3-button timer control located in the center of the control panel, which includes a Minus Button, Plus Button, and Time of Day Adjustment Button. This timer allows for setting the time of day, a minute minder (up to 10 hours), a cooking duration timer (up to 23 hours, 59 minutes) for immediate start and timed finish, and a fully automatic timer function for delayed cooking start and timed finish. The timer also incorporates a child lock feature that activates 30 seconds after a timer function is set, preventing unauthorized adjustments. Users can also adjust the buzzer tone (3 options) and display brightness (8 settings).

Important Technical Specifications:

The BLANCO BOSE900X operates on a rated voltage of 220 to 240V ac 50Hz. It has a maximum rated input of 3600W and requires a hardwired connection to the power supply. The external dimensions of the oven are 898mm (length), 570mm (depth), and 595mm (height), with a cavity volume of 129 liters. The oven lamp is either a G9 Halogen (AC220V-240V, 18W, 300°C) or E14 (AC220V-240V, 15W, 300°C) high-temperature lamp.

Usage Features:

For optimal cooking, it is recommended to keep baking dishes and pans at least 4cm from the oven sides to ensure free heat circulation. Large cuts of meat (1kg or over) should be removed from the fridge an hour prior to cooking to allow them to stand covered and away from direct sun/heat, which helps in more even cooking. The oven shelves are numbered from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). For single-shelf cooking, positions 4 or 5 are recommended, and for two-shelf cooking, positions 3 and 6.

When first using the oven, it is advised to run it empty at maximum temperature for 45 minutes with proper ventilation to eliminate any initial odors from insulation materials and heater elements. The oven function and temperature controls must be adjusted, and the timer programmed for the oven to operate.

For cooking pizza, the Fan Forced with Lower Heat Element function is recommended, with a preheating period of at least 10 minutes. Using a non-stick pizza pan with holes is ideal, and the oven door should not be opened frequently. For pizzas with many toppings, mozzarella cheese can be added halfway through cooking.

For roasting meat, chicken, and fish, white meat, poultry, and fish are best cooked between 180°C-220°C. Red meat that needs to be well-done on the outside and tender/juicy inside can be started at a high temperature (200°C-220°C) for a short time, then turned down. Larger cuts of meat, poultry, or fish should be removed from the oven after cooking, covered with foil, and allowed to stand for 10-20 minutes to retain juices. For large whole fish (1kg or larger), scoring or slashing the flesh 2-3 times on either side helps with even cooking.

The oven comes with wire grids and a shallow tray, both featuring a built-in safety "step" to prevent accidental full pull-out. To insert, push the grid/tray until it catches, then angle it over the step and fully insert. To remove, reverse the process.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning and maintenance operations should only be performed when the oven is cool and disconnected from the power outlet or turned off at the isolation switch. For the exterior, avoid abrasive cleaners or those with particles that could scratch enamelled or painted parts; cream or liquid cleaners without particles are recommended. Spilled liquids should be cleaned immediately. For the interior, unplug the oven and clean while it is slightly warm. Remove side wire racks first, then wipe with a soft cloth dampened with warm soapy water, rinse, and wipe dry. The oven door and rubber seal should also be cleaned. Dry and powder-type oven cleaners can be used following product instructions.

For oven lamp replacement, the appliance must be disconnected from the power supply. Unscrew the glass cover anti-clockwise, pull out the old lamp, and replace it with a new high-temperature lamp of the specified type (G9 Halogen or E14). Remount the glass cover and reconnect the appliance.

Troubleshooting tips are provided for common issues: if the oven does not operate, check power connection, household fuse, and timer settings. If the oven does not heat, verify temperature settings. If the interior lamp does not light, check for defective lamps. If cooking is uneven, adjust shelf locations, cooking period, and heat values. Initial smoking is normal due to protective oils being removed. For further problems, contact an Authorized Service Centre.

For transportation, it is recommended to use the original carton and packaging, following transport signs. Paper should be placed between the upper cover and cooking panel, and cardboard or paper taped onto the inside face of the glass to prevent damage. Cardboard covers for the wire grill and trays should be used, and oven covers taped to the side walls.
