Installing the battery

Warning:
Before connecting the bat-
tery, switch off the ignition.
To avoid short-circuits:
• Reconnect positive battery
cable (+) 2 first,
• then negative battery
cable (—)1

Note:
Disconnecting the battery de-
letes the trip-meter reading and
the clock setting.
• Set the clock
• Grease the battery posts
• Install the battery
• Reconnect breather hose 4
– Make sure that the battery
breather hose is not kinked
or blocked.
• Reconnect positive battery
lead (+) 2
• Reconnect negative battery
lead (-) 1
• Reinstall cover 3
• Make sure the cover is
securely seated
• Close the stowage compart-
ment
