Removing the battery

Warning:
Do not damage cables and
breather hose when removing!
Before disconnecting the bat-
tery, switch off the ignition.
To avoid short-circuits:
• Begin by disconnecting
negative battery cable (—) 1
• then the positive battery
lead (+) 2!
• Place the BMW C1 on its
stand
– after making sure that the
ground is level and firm
• Open the stowage compart-
ment
• Disengage cover 4 by press-
ing down and simultaneously
pulling toward the rear and
remove
• Disconnect battery breather
tube 3
• Disconnect the negative bat-
tery lead 1
• Disconnect the positive bat-
tery lead 2
• Lift the battery toward the rear
to remove
