33 12 Removing crown wheel
– Remove housing cover (7).
•
Remove shim (8).
•
Heat housing cover (7) to 100 °C (212 °F) and pull
off crown wheel (3).
•
Drive shaft sealing ring (1) from the inside out of
housing cover (7) with a suitable drift.
•
Clamp crown wheel (3) into vise with soft jaws.
•
Insert thrust block (arrow), BMW No. 33 1 307.
•
Using puller, BMWNo.331830, pull off
grooved ball bearing (2).
•
Pull taper roller bearing (5) off crown wheel (3)
using puller, BMW No. 00 7 500.
