Hold the vehicle upright, making sure that
the ground is firm and level.
ATTENTION
Lateral tipping of the vehicle
Component damage cause by tipping over
Secure the vehicle from tipping over lat-
erally, preferably with the support of a
second person.
Read oil level on the display 1.
Specified level of engine oil
Between MIN and MAX mark
If the oil level is below the MIN mark:
Topping up the engine oil ( 122).
If the oil level is above the MAX mark:
Have the oil level corrected at a special-
ist workshop, preferably an authorized
BMW Motorrad retailer.
BMW Motorrad recommends occa-
sionally checking the motor oil after a
journey of at least 31 mi (50 km) in order to
reduce the environmental impact.
Topping up the engine oil
Park the vehicle, making sure that the
ground is firm and level.
Remove screws 2 using the onboard vehi-
cle tool kit and take off the cover 1.
