Mount chain ring and chain ring spider
Assemble chain ring spider and chain ring before mounting on
the drive unit.
Ensure that the chain ring screws 18 are the right
length. The sleeve nuts 19 must not be too short, and
the chain ring screws must not protrude on the in-
side!
Tighten uniformly crosswise.
Fit spider to chain ring
(Internal hex key with width across flats of 5
Aluminium: 5–8 Nm, Steel: 8–12 Nm;
Screw lock medium-tight).
Install chain ring and cranks
– Slightly grease seating of spider 3 and fine thread on motor
housing 20.
– Attach spider with chain ring to drive unit.
– Lightly grease lock ring 2 (only aluminium version).
Mount lock ring with spider tool 1 (tightening
torque 40 Nm;
aluminium lock ring free of grease 30 Nm,
greased 20 Nm)
Attention: Left-hand thread!
– Grease bottom bracket shaft.
– Mount crank arms on bottom bracket shaft.
Internal hex key with width across flats of 8; Tight-
ening torque 50–55 Nm.
– Internal hex key with width across flats of 5
–Torque spanner
– Counterholding tool
