6. For testing, the nozzle and holder assembly should
be clamped in the clamping holder for the extractor
device or the spray vessel.
7. To check that the nozzle is not twisted, forcefully
move the manual operating lever several times with
the pressure gauge switched off.
i The pressure gauge is switched off when the handle
of the shutoff valve is turned all the way to the right.
" If the needle is moving smoothly and correctly the
nozzle should chatter with a high-pitched whistling
sound (exception: hole-type nozzles with one or two
small spray holes, which do not chatter when the lever
is operated rapidly).
4. Testing
Hazard when using explosive media
(e. g. gasoline)!
Burns and injuries
Never use gasoline or similar explosive
media.
Use only pure ISO 4113 test oil for testing
test nozzle and holder assemblies.
Use only pure ISO 4113 test oil or pure
diesel fuel for testing engine nozzle and
holder assemblies
Risk of injury due to high pressures!
The nozzle spray will penetrate deep into
the flesh of a finger or hand and destroy the
tissue. The medium penetrating the blood
can cause blood poisoning.
Never reach into the nozzle jet.
4.1 Test conditions
The following requirements must be met for all tests.
Description Requirements
Test medium Clean test oil as per ISO 4113 or pure
diesel fuel
Test oil temperature 23 ± 5 °C
Ventilation For all measurements, complete
ventilation of the system to be tested is
a prerequisite for accurate results.
4.2 Visual inspection
Before testing the nozzle and holder assembly, check the
pressure lines and the nozzle for mechanical damage.
