Connecting
audio

from
record
player,
CD
player,
tape

and
TV
The
CC4
Control
Center
is
designed
to
allow
sufficient
room
for
plugs
and
cables
between
the
rear
connector
jacks
and
the
rear
cover.
After
completing
the
wiring,
the
cover
should
be
replaced
in
its
guides.
Before
plugging
the
unit into
the
mains
outlet,
ensure
that
the
local
supply
voltage
corresponds
to
the
preset
voltage
on
your
CC4.
The
unit
has
been
set
in
the
factory
for
220...240
V
50/60
Hz
operation.
Conver-
sion
to
110...220
V
operation
is
possible
but
should
only
be
carried
out
by
a
specialist.
The
CC4
switches
to
standby
mode
when
plugged
in.
On
first
plugging
in
or
after
a
long
interruption
in
power
supply,
the
dis-
play
shows
a
dot
only.
If
there
is
a
short
interruption
in
the
power
supply
while
the
clock
is
running,
the
display
will
show
CLOCK
to
indicate
that
the
built-in
clock
must
be
reset.
Do
not
switch
on
the
power
yet.
The
“75
Q"
is
normally
connected
via
a
coaxial
cable
(75
ohm)
to
an
FM
antenna
or
wall
antenna
outlet
for
an
FM/AM
group
antenna.
The
other
antenna
connections
are
explained
on
page
21.
The
enclosed
auxiliary
antenna
will
normally
permit
good
reception
of
strong
FM
and
AM
stations.
This
antenna
needs
only
be
routed
away
from
the
Control
Center
(pos-
sibly
behind
furniture).
In
locations
with
poor
reception
and
for
high
quality
recep-
tion
of
remote
stations,
an
external
antenna
is
required.
(It
may
be
necessary
to
mount
this
so
that
it
can
be
turned.)
Connecting
the
power
amplifier
Arecord
player,
CD
player,
two
cassette
decks
and
the
preamplifier
output
of
a
TV
can
be
connected
to
the
CC4
Control
Cen-
ter.
The
CC4
is
fully
compatible
in
design
and
specifications
with
the
atelier
system
components.
The
audio
sources
are
connected
with
the
appropriate
twin
jacks
(left
channel
with
the
upper
jack,
right
with
the
lower).
The
“phono”
input
can
be
connected
to
record
players
with
magnetic
or
moving
coil
cartridges.
The
slide
switch
“phono
mm/
mc”
must
be
set
to
“mm”
for
magnetic
and
“me”
for
moving
coil
cartridges.
The
ground
from
the
record
player
is
connected
to
the
“ground”
screw
terminal.
The
“cd”
twin
jacks
can
be
connected
to
a
CD
player
or
other
high
level
audio
source.
The
“TV”
twin
jacks
should
be
connected
with
the
output
from
the
preamplifier
of
a
TV
(“pre
out”
on
the
TV3)
in
order
to
use
automatic
audio
control
(TVA)
to
play
TV
-sound
through
the
hifi
system.
The
CC4
then
switches
on
automatically
if
the
TV
provides
an
audio
output
signal,
with
the
CC4
tone
contro!
disabled,
balance
set
to
centre
and
volume
to
VOL
65.
The'control-
settings
cannot
be
changed.
Operation
is
exclusively
via
the
remote
control
unit
set
to
“television”.
TV
sets
without
a
preamplifier
output
but
with
outputs
at
tape
or
line
level
can
similarly
be
connected
to
the
“tv”
jacks.
Automatic
audio
control
is
not
possible,
and
volume
and
tone
must
be
set
via
the
remote
control
unit
set
to
“audio”.
Tape
decks
must
be
connected
to
the
“tape”
or
“tape2”
twin
jacks.
The
“tape
out”
and
“tape2
out”
jacks
supply
a
high
level
signal
for
the
line
input
of
the
cassette
deck.
An
adaptor
with
suitable
resistance
is
needed
for
units
with
current
feed
input.
The
audio
signal
for
playback
is
led
from
the
audio
source
to
the
“tape1
in”
and
“tape2
in”
twin
jacks.
The
two
inputs
“tape
in”
and
“tape2
in”
are
suitable
for
tape
decks
with
separate
record
and
playback
heads
and
enable
source
and
tape
monitoring.
Any
output
controls
on
audio
sources
should
be
set
so
that
playback
volume
is
constant
when
switching
from
fm
reception
to
other
audio
inputs.
Input
sensitivity
can
also
be
adjusted
on
the
CC4
(see
section
“setting
input
sensitivity”).
Mono
audio
sources
are
connected
to
only
one
input
jack.
Press
the
“mono”
button
for
playback
through
both
loudspeakers.
For
normal
stereo
playback
connect
the
twin
“pre
out1”
jacks
on
the
CC4
to
the
input
jacks
of
the
stereo
power
amplifier.
Use
an
audio
cable
and
ensure
that
the
channels
are
correctly
connected.
For
larger
stereo
configurations
a
second
stereo
power
amplifier
can
be
connected
with
the
“pre
out2”
twin
jacks,
Use
the
buttons
“out1”
and
“out2”
to
switch
the
signal
for
the
amplifiers
connected
to
these
jacks.
The
status
is
shown
in
the
display.
With
power
amplifiers
in
the
atelier
line
that
have
a
control
connector
(“speaker
remote1
/2”
for
example
the
PA4
also
connect
the
“speaker
remote”
jack
on
the
CC4
to
the
power
amplifier
jack
“speaker
remote1”
using
the
control
cable
supplied
with
the
amplifier.
This
allows
you
to
switch
the
power
amplifier
and
the
speakers
con-
nected
to
it
on
and
off
from
the
remote
control
unit.
