The
functions
of
the
controls
are
shown
briefly
in
the
display
or as
an
illuminated
display
while
the
function
is
active.
Blinking
(possibly
temporary)
indicates
that
a
func-
tion
is
ready
for
use.
If
a
command
entry
is
incomplete,
the
CC4
automatically
reverts
to
its
previous
status.
@
For
operation
with
the
remote
control
unit,
set
the
address
selector
to
“audio”,
with
flap
closed.
Open
flap
by
pressing
release
button.
Station
search
@
Using
“on/standby”
with
the
CC4
in
standby
mode
switches
on
and
maintains
the
status
at
the
time
of
switching
off.
The
volume
level
is
briefly
displayed,
and
then
audio
output
is
activated.
Use
“on/standby”
to
switch
off.
If
VOO
lights
up
after
switching
on,
this
means
that
the
CC4
was
in
mute
mode
_
when
switched
off.
Cancel
muting
by
pressing
e
“nf”
You
can
also
switch
on
by
pressing
one
of
the
audio
source
buttons
“tv”
“fm“
“am”
“tapel”
“tape2”
“phono”
or
“cd”,
which
also
activates
the
selected
input.
All
other
controls
retain
their
status
at
the
time
of
switching
off.
The
tape
input
can
be
selected
on
the
remote
contro}
unit
by
pressing
“tape”
followed
(within
3
secs)
by
"1"
or
“2".
The
display
shows
the
audio
source
or
received
frequency
(poss.
with
preset
station
number),
e.g.
94.40
P2,
or
the
play-
back
source
on
the
left
and
the
recording
source
on
the
right,
e.g.
T1
FM.
Manual
tuning
(on
CC4
only)
On
switching
on
after
a
longer
period
with-
out
mains, power,
all
selectable
functions
are
disabled
and
ail
controls
set
to
middle
or
zero.
Only
the
“pre
out1”
output
and
the
two
loudspeaker
outputs
(for
an
power
amplifier
connected
with
a
control
cable)
are
switched
on.

enable/disable
the
corresponding
loudspeaker
output.
On
the
unit,
use
the

“fm”
or
“am”
buttons
to
select
FM
or
AM
wavebands.

(if
stereo
station
is
being
received
with
adequate
quality).
Using
the
remote
control
unit,
press

“fm”
to
select
FM
reception
(repeating
toggles
between
FM

AM).
To
tune
to
a
particular
station,
activate
search
on
the
unit
by
pressing
@
“auto
tune+”
or
“auto
tune—".
Using
the
remote
control
unit,
press
@"
pp"
or”
<<".
The
search
(with
automatic
muting)
con-
tinues
in
the
selected
direction
until
the
next
station
with
adequate
reception
quality
and
center
tuning
position
is
located.
Muting
is
then
cancelled.
Repeat
the
process
until
you
locate
the
desired
station.
With
the
auto
tuning
button
continuously
depressed
it
is
possible
to
tune
near
to
the
desired
station
and
then
by
repressing
the
button
the
station
is
tuned
in.
If
the
button
is
not
pressed,
the
direction
of
search
automatically
reverses
at
each
end
of
the
tuning
range.
To
select
a
specific
frequency,
hold
the
@
“man.tune+”
or
“man.tune-”
button
depressed
until
you
are
reach
the
target
frequency
(tuning
begins
slowly
and
switches
automatically
to
fast).
Then
use
single-step
tuning
to
set
the
exact
frequency.
Tuning
proceeds
in
25
kHz
steps
in
FM,
9
kHz
steps
in
AM.
However,
the
FM
frequency
display
only
shows
multiples
of
10
kHz.
The
»
or
<
arrows
in
the
center
tuning
display
indicate
the
direction
of
tun-
ing
required
for
centering
until
only
is
shown.
The
field
strength
display
shows:
strength
of
reception.
It
may
be
necessary
to
tune
off
centre
for
optimal
playback
quality.
In
AM
band,
only
field
strength
is
shown.
If
a
preset
station
frequency
is
reached
during
tuning,
the
display
shows
the
preset
memory
number.
A
station
can
be
assigned
to
one
of
the
30
preset
station
memories
for
convenience
in
tuning.
When
the
display
shows
the
station
frequency
(e.g.
94.40
MHz
stereo)
press:
@
“memo”
(display:
94.40
memo
blinks
for
3
secs).
To
select
the
station
memory,
press
or
hold
@
“program
»”
or
“<
program”
until
the
desired
memory
number
is
displayed.

Repressing

transfer

Further
FM

AM
stations
can
be
stored
in
this
way
up
to
a
maximum
of
30.
For
optimal
reception
of
FM
stations,
if
activated,
“h.blend”
(see
“further
functions”)
can
also
be
stored.
