5 Download and install the latest BrightSign software. If you’re already using the latest
software, reinstall the software (see Step 2: Get the latest BrightSign software for details).
6 Try using a different brand and/or size SD card.
7 Re-create content with different software, if possible.
Video output is red, green, or distorted
Red or distorted video output can occur if you’re using a VGA display and Brightsign is set to a
non-VGA resolution. The HD2000, for example, defaults to 720p output (component or HDMI)
from the factory, which causes red output when a VGA display is attached to an HD2000. On
other BrightSign models, you may see distortion or green output when using the default video
setting with a VGA display. Therefore, you must set the BrightSign video output to 1024x768 or
1360x768; the HD2000 also supports 1280x768. For playlists (AUTOPLAY.BSP) and interactive
playlists (AUTOPLAY.CSV), add the following line to correct the video output:
• HD2000: VIDEOMODE 1024x768x60p
• HD110, HD210, HD410, HD810, and HD1010: VIDEOMODE 1024x768x75p
No audio during playback
BrightSign defaults to analog audio. On the HD2000, Audio 1 is the default analog port.
1 Make sure your audio cable is firmly connected to the analog output on your BrightSign.
2 On the HD2000, try each of the analog outputs.
3 Check the volume on your powered speakers / AV receiver.
4 Make sure the AV receiver is set to the correct input.
5 Make sure your video isn't using PCM Audio (unless you're using the HD2000).
6 If you’re using AC3 audio, make sure the audio is passed through over HDMI. AC3 audio is
not decoded (unless you're using the HD2000).
7 If you set the volume or audio output in your playlist, double-check the settings you used.
For audio output, 0=Analog, 1=USB, and 2=Optical/HDMI.
