8. Install the lock washer ensuring the 90 ° tab
locates in the hole of the timing gears and nuts
to the rotor shafts. Tighten these only finger
tight until the clearances have been correctly
set. (Refer to section 9.8 Setting clearances)
9. Replace the pulse wheel on the right hand
rotor. Use thread locking compound on the
threads and secure with the retaining washer,
washer and screw.
10. Position the main housing O-ring in the groove
on the outlet housing and position O-ring on
timing gear end of the measuring element
body.
11. Lower the complete measuring unit assembly
into the outlet housing by aligning on to the
dowel pins.
12. Lower the inlet housing onto the outlet
housing, aligning the dowel pins to ensure
correct installation. Avoid damage to the
O-rings.
13. Complete the assembly by securing all screws
and tightening them to their required torque
value. (Table 9.7)
14. Install the O-ring on the sensor housing and
insert the assembly into the inlet housing.
Secure with four Allen screws and torque to 55
in/lbs.
2. Place preload washers in the bore of the inlet
bearing plate. Use arbor press to carefully
press (qty 2) pulse wheel side bearing into the
inlet bearing plate.
NOTE: Bearings are slip fit and may not fit flat
with the top surface of the bearing plate. The
bearings will need to be held in bores during
handling and assembly of the bearing plate.
3. Attach outlet bearing plate to measuring unit
housing by aligning dowel pins and holes. Tap
into place. Secure with socket head cap screws.
4. Insert right hand rotor and left hand rotor into
measuring unit housing (See Figure 9.5 for
installation orientation)
5. Attach inlet bearing plate and preload washers
to measuring unit housing bu aligning dowel
pins and holes. Tap into place. Secure with
socket head cap screws.
6. Apply anti seize lubricant to the threads on
both sides of the shafts. Screw on all the
bearing nuts and secure with wrench. Tighten
all set screws on the bearing nuts.
7. Place the timing gears onto the respective
tapered rotor shaft. The timing gears have a
small hole for the location of the lock washer
tab; this should be facing outward from the
measuring element.
