6 Storage
Brodie International instruments are precision
devices and should be handled and stored with
care. They should not be subjected to rough or
improper handling or stored in an environment
where moisture, extreme temperatures, or foreign
material can damage the meter.
The inlet and outlet flange covers should remain
on the instrument until the unit is ready for
installation.
If extended storage is required it is
recommended that the instrument be placed in an
environmentally controlled warehouse.
If this is not possible the instrument should be
stored in a waterproof lined wooden box. Desiccant
packs should be taped to the inside of the
instrument end connections before they are sealed
to reduce the effect of humidity on the equipment
and accessories. Caution must be used to ensure
desiccant packs are removed prior to installation.
Depending on the storage time it may also be
preferable to use a compatible corrosion inhibitor.
If the meter is removed from service for an
extended period of time it should be flushed with a
light oil before being placed into storage.
7 Description
General
The BiRotor Plus is an extremely accurate,
dualcased, flow measuring device. It produces a
high resolution signal, via the use of non-wetted
pick offs, which is directly proportional to the rate
of liquid flow through the meter. These signals
can be shaped by a simple pre-amplifier for
transmission to ancillary equipment.
The BiRotor Plus meter utilizes the exclusive
BiRotor principle. There are no sliding, oscillating,
or reciprocating parts.
The BiRotor Plus (models B27X, B28X, B29X,
B30X, B31X, B32X, B33X, B34X, B35X, B36X, B38X,
SB25X, LB27X, LB28X, LB29X) electrical enclosure
comprises of a cast aluminum body and a plain lid
containing a PCB which consists of an inductive
proximity sensor which detects metallic objects
without coming in direct contact. Two entry holes
are provided on one face of the enclosure to allow
the fitment of suitable cable entry devices. A
closed cell silicon rubber compound sponge gas-
ket is fitted around the top of the enclosure, onto
which the lid is fitted. The lid is held in position
with four socket head screws. A warning label is
fitted on the lid and held in place with four rivets
secured into blind holes.
