Rotary Hook
: (Performed once at start of the day and every 4 hours of operation.)
1) Turn the pulley in the opposite direction of the arrow to 50 degrees.
2) Open bobbin case cover and look from the left side of the rotary hook you will see what
is called the “Raceway.”
3) Place a small drop of oil on the raceway (A).
4) Turn the pulley in the direction of the arrow to stop position (100 degrees).
Oil Reservoirs
: (Performed once a week based on 40 hours.)
1) Fill the oil reservoirs on the left side (B) of the machine sewing arm to 1/2 full once a
week.
Needle Bars
: (Performed once a week based on 40 hours.)
1) Remove the front plate that has the “BROTHER” logo on it by removing one screw and
loosening the other. The plate will now slide off to the side.
2) Oil each needle bar as shown in the picture on the left (C), by placing a small drop of oil
on each needle bar. Be sure to oil in both locations of the needle bar.
