 Error code A300
The first side document scanning position sensor has not detected the top of the document
even after the document has been fed for the specified distance.
 Error code A400
The ADF cover sensor detected that the ADF cover was open.
Document Jam
Clear the scanner jam, then press the Stop Key.
<User Check>
• Set A4 or Letter size paper.
• Remove the jammed document.
Step Cause Remedy

First side document scanning
position actuator caught in some
sections of the machine
Reattach the first side document scanning
position actuator.

Connection failure of the first
side document scanning
position sensor PCB harness
Reconnect the first side document scanning
position sensor PCB harness.

First side document scanning
position sensor failure
Replace the first side document scanning
position sensor PCB ASSY.
4
Main PCB failure Replace the main PCB ASSY.
Cover is Open
Close the ADF Cover, then press the Stop Key.
<User Check>
• Close the ADF cover correctly.
Step Cause Remedy

ADF cover actuator caught in

Reattach the ADF cover actuator.

Connection failure of the ADF
cover/document detection
sensor PCB harness
Reconnect the ADF cover/document detection
sensor PCB harness.

ADF cover sensor failure Replace the ADF cover/document detection
sensor PCB ASSY.
4
Main PCB failure Replace the main PCB ASSY.
