3. Fit the Sound Level Calibrator over the Microphone using the 1f2 " adaptor.
4. Start the Sound Level Calibrator and wait for the display to stabilize. The display
should indicate 93,8 dB ± 0,1 dB (1/2 inch free-field microphone).
5. If an adjustment is necessary, turn the SENS. ADJ. potentiometer on the side of
the Sound Level Meter with a small screwdriver (see Fig.3.4).
3.4.3. Calibration with the Pistonphone
Type 4220
The Type 4220 produces a nominal sound pressure level of 124 dB ± 0,15 dB (re.
20 x 1 o-

Pa). The calibration procedure is as follows:
1. Remove the Windscreen if fitted.
2. Set the controls on the Sound Level Meter as follows:
