OPERATION
3.1. INTRODUCTION
This
Instruction
Manual
describes
the use
of
the
Precision
Integrating
Sound
Level
Meter
Type 2230.
However,
more
general
considerations
on
sound
measurement
tech-
niques
must
be
taken
in
account,
and
these
are
given
in the
accompanying
booklet
"Measuring
Sound".
To
obtain
valid
results
it
is
also
important
that
the
measurements
are
carried
out
according
to
the
relevant
national
or
international
standards.
3.2. BATTERY INSTALLATION

The
Type
2230 is
powered
by
4
batteries
1,5
V,
IEC
Type
LR
6.
New
alkaline
batteries
(B & K No. QB 0013) will
provide
approximately
8
hours
of
continuous
operation,
and
when the
"BAT"
symbol
flashes
in the
display
approximately
half
an
hour
of
operation
is left. When a
non-resettable
"i"
is
displayed
at
the
same
time
as
"BAT",
new
batte-
ries
must
be
fitted.
To install
new
batteries
slide
the
lock
downwards
and pull
out
the
battery
drawer,
see
Fig.3.1.
Remove
the
depleted
batteries
and
place
new
batteries
with
polarities
as
shown
inside
the
battery
drawer.
Put
back
the
battery
drawer.
