Before
starting
any
measurement
carry
out
a
display
check
and a
calibration
check
using
the
internal
reference
signal, see
section
3.4.
Note:
It is
possible
to
switch between all DISPLAY
settings
without
interrupting
any
measurement
started. When measuring
low
levels
it
is
recommended
to
move
the DIS-
PLAY and PAUSE
selectors
smoothly, as the
clicking
noise
produced
may
introduce
errors.
This is
irrelevant
when measuring higher levels.
For
measurements
of
SPL up
to
150 dB, the
Input
Attenuator
ZF 0020 has
to
be
fitted
between
the
Microphone
and the
input
stage
(see Fig.3.3). When
the
Attenuator
is
fitted
a 20
dB
correction
is
automatically
applied
by
the
Sound
Level
Meter.
The
dis-
played
value
thus
corresponds
to
the real SPL and no
correction
has
to
be
applied.
WARNING:
Exposure
of
personnel
to
high sound levels is
dangerous
to
health
unless
adequate
ear
protection
is
worn.
