LEGEND
Ewb – Entering Wet-Bulb
kW – Total Unit Power Input
SHC – Gross Sensible Heat Capacity (1000 Btuh)
TC – Gross Cooling Capacity (1000 Btuh)
NOTES:
1. Ratings are gross; they do not account for the effects
of the evaporator-fan motor power and heat.
2. Direct interpolation is permissible. Do not extrapolate.
3. The following formulas may be used:
sensible capacity (Btuh)
t=t2
ldb edb
1.10 x cfm
t = Wet-bulb temperature corresponding to enthalpy of air leaving
lwb
evaporator coil (h )
lwb
total capacity (Btuh)
h=h2
lwb ewb
4.5 x cfm
Where: h = Enthalpy of air entering evaporator coil
ewb
BF – Bypass Factor
4. Determine Net Cooling Capacity using the following formula:
Net Capacity = Gross Cooling Capacity – Indoor Fan Motor Heat
Indoor Fan Motor Heat is determined by the following formula:
Indoor Fan Motor Heat = Indoor Fan Motor Watts x (3,413 Btuh/Watts)
The Indoor Fan Motor Watts are determined from the Wet Coil Air Delivery
table depending on the desired CFM and speed setting.
