Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Causes What To Do
Air scrubber does not
start when turned on.
The air scrubber is unplugged. Make sure the air scrubber’s plug is pushed completely
into the outlet.
Power switch (red switch at back of
unit) is set to “OFF” or circuit breaker
is tripped.
Flip switch to “RESET”.
GFCI has been tripped. Depress the “RESET” button on the GFCI on the back of the unit.
Power failure. Restore power to the outlet.
Damaged or defective power cord. Contact Customer Service
(855) 595-2860.
Red lter indicator
lights are lit.
Blocked/dirty lter Change appropriate lter.
The fan stops
suddenly.
Power failure. Restore power.
Unit in “ERROR” state. See Error State Table (Below).
Fan runs but suction
is poor.
Blocked/dirty lter. Change lters.
Area too large. Add additional air scrubber.
Unit too far from point of dust
generation.
Move unit closer to work area.
Unit rattles during
operation.
Cover loose. Check that cover latches are fastened. Tighten retaining screw.
Dust or dirty air blows
from unit.
Defective or loose lter. Adjust or change.
Abnormal noise. Unknown. Disconnect vent hose, inspect lters and air pathways.

Loose cover. Check that cover latches are fastened.
The BuildClean HEPA 360° Air Scrubber is designed and manufactured for severe environments and tasks, but
the user must note that the machine components must be protected from knocks and blows. Filters and sealing
connections are carefully chosen to serve the operator. Therefore, the machine must be handled with care if it
is to work correctly for many years.
Unit Error Codes
Error Code 1 Blocked/dirty lter See Filter Status Display, change appropriate lter.
Error Code 2 Pre-lter fault Install BuildClean pre-lter
Pre-lter fault Assure the pre-lter activation pin in fully inserted.
Pre-lter fault Make sure vent hose is not blocked.
Error Code 3 HEPA lter fault Install BuildClean HEPA lter.
HEPA lter fault If using a vent hose, make sure that the house is straight and free
from any material crushing or blocking the hose.
Error Code 4 Dust sensor malfunction Clean dust sensor by blowing compressed air through inlet.
Error Code 5 Fan pressure sensor
malfunction
Clean area (black rubber air intakes) where the lters are installed.
Contact Customer Service if problem persists.
Error Code 6 Pre-lter pressure sensor
malfunction
Clean area (black rubber air intakes) where the lters are installed.
Contact Customer Service if problem persists.
Error Code 7 HEPA-lter pressure sensor
malfunction
Clean area (black rubber air intakes) where the lters are installed.
If problem persists, contact Customer Service (855) 595-2860.
Error Code 8 RPM sensor malfunction or
locked up fan
Contact Customer Service (855) 595-2860.
NOTE: Air Scrubber has to be plugged into a wall outlet to reset the GFCI
