Questions and Answers

Why is my Bunn ICB beverage weak?
    • S
      Seth GoodwinAug 15, 2025
If your Bunn Coffee Maker is producing a weak beverage, ensure that you are using BUNN paper filters. Use a sufficient quantity of fresh drip or regular grind coffee for proper extraction. A Bunn-O-Matic sprayhead should be used to properly wet the bed of ground coffee in the funnel. Make sure that the BUNN paper filter is centered in the funnel and the bed of grounds leveled by gently shaking. Check the water temperature immediately below the sprayhead with a thermometer. Adjust brew volumes, bypass percentage and pulse brew routines.

Why won't the water heat in my Bunn Coffee Maker, or why does the display show 'HEATING TIME TOO LONG'?
    • A
      Angela MartinAug 19, 2025
If the water in your Bunn Coffee Maker won't heat, or the display shows 'HEATING TIME TOO LONG', remove power from the brewer and check for continuity through the limit thermostat. Remove the temperature probe from the grommet and submerge in a water bath of approximately 70°F (21°C). Check that the toggle switch connections are secure and properly wired. Remove power from the brewer and check for continuity between the white terminal of the terminal block. Connect a voltmeter across the tank heater.

What to do if my Bunn ICB is dripping from the sprayhead?
    • C
      Christy WalkerAug 21, 2025
If your Bunn Coffee Maker is dripping from the sprayhead, and water overflows the filter or beverage overflows the server, a possible cause is a leaky brew valve, which should be repaired or replaced. Ensure you are using BUNN paper filters for proper extraction. Check the sprayhead and make sure that it is installed. Also, ensure that the brew cycle is started only with an empty server under the funnel. Adjusting the brew volume may also help.

What to do if my Bunn ICB Coffee Maker brew cycle will not start?
    • G
      goodwinfeliciaAug 25, 2025
If the brew cycle on your Bunn Coffee Maker won't start, first ensure that there is a water supply by checking the plumbing and shut-off valves. Then, check for proper voltage across the terminals at the terminal block. Also, test the ON/OFF switch, the BREW switch, and the brew valve. If problems persist, consider substituting a control board known to be in good working order.
  • S
    sawyerlanceAug 27, 2025
What to do if water flows continuously into the tank of my Bunn Coffee Maker even with the power removed?
    • D
      danielle42Aug 27, 2025
If water flows continuously into the tank of your Bunn Coffee Maker even with the power removed, it may be due to foreign material lodged in the valve, holding it open. Check the sensitivity setting. If these steps don't resolve the issue, substitute the control board with one known to be in good working order.

    ypeckAug 30, 2025
Why is the temperature too low in my Bunn ICB?
    • G
      Gina FoxAug 31, 2025
If the temperature is too low in your Bunn Coffee Maker, service is required due to a possible tank heater failure or a control board/thermistor failure.

Why is there no bypass water in my Bunn ICB Coffee Maker?
    • K
      Kimberly BlakeSep 2, 2025
If there is no bypass water in your Bunn Coffee Maker, test the bypass valve. Also, check to make sure the bypass % has been set for the current recipe.
  • R
    robinsonbrendaSep 5, 2025
Why is there spitting or unusual steaming from the sprayhead or air vent of my Bunn ICB?
    • J
      Jacqueline AllenSep 5, 2025
If there's spitting or unusual steaming from the sprayhead or air vent of your Bunn Coffee Maker, inspect the probe and tank assembly for excessive lime deposits. Remove the temperature probe from the grommet and submerge it in a water bath of approximately 70°F (21°C). Remove power from the brewer.
  • I
    Isaac LambSep 8, 2025
Why is my Bunn ICB Coffee Maker making unusual noises?
    • M
      mary42Sep 9, 2025
If your Bunn Coffee Maker is making unusual noises, ensure the mounting screws on the solenoids are tight to prevent vibration. Confirm plumbing lines are not resting on the countertop. The brewer must be connected to a cold water line. Lime buildup on tank heaters can also cause noise; remove and clean the lime.
  • K
    Karen NguyenSep 12, 2025
Why is there an inconsistent beverage level in the server/dispenser of my Bunn ICB Coffee Maker?
    • B
      Brandon LaneSep 12, 2025
If you're experiencing an inconsistent beverage level in the server/dispenser of your Bunn Coffee Maker, remove the strainer and check for obstructions, clearing or replacing if necessary. Check the operating water pressure to ensure it is between 20 and 90 psi (138 and 620 kPa). Test the brew valve and bypass valve. Inspect for lime buildup that could block the tank, tank fittings, tubing, valves, and sprayhead. Adjust the brew volume.
