Cleaning the Unit

Clean the quartz glass tube each time an emitter is changed. Remove mains plug, close shut-off valves, and drain the unit.

Sanitization of the UV Unit

Steaming is forbidden. Sanitization can be done with hot water (max. 85 °C) for a maximum of 1 hour.

Cleaning the Glass Pane of the UVC Sensor Unit

Clean the glass pane with an appropriate cleaning agent (e.g., alcohol or mild acid) and a soft cloth.

Changing the Emitter

Replace UV emitters after 14,000 operating hours. Ensure correct installation and connection.

Operator Responsibilities

Inspection

Operator checks: nitrite content, emitter casing tube, blue cap, and O-rings for wear.

Maintenance

BWT service staff or authorized installer must perform regular maintenance. Consider a service agreement.

Replace Wear Parts

Details wear parts like emitters, sensors, O-rings, tubes, and their replacement intervals.

Functional Tests

Checks include wiring, connections, consumption, voltage, and control unit functions.

High UV Intensity Value After Startup

Check UV permeability, emitter run time, or sensor alignment.

Check UV permeability, emitter age, or sensor condition.

Dropping UV Intensity During Stagnation

Water heating reduces emitter performance; check emitter temperature dependence.

Water in Emitter Protection Tube

Check emitter protection tube installation and blue protective cap.
