Using Luna
Respiratory
The Luna manikin includes respiratory features that allow learners to practice basic assessment and
life support skill sets. With the Luna manikin, learners can:
Manage difficult airways
Perform intubation and procedural suctioning
Recognize and resolve right mainstem intubation
Perform needle decompression
Perform chest tube insertion
Recognize cyanosis
Maintain tracheostomy sites
Airway Management
The manikin’s anatomically realistic upper airway provides for the opportunity to intubate the infant
patient, while various clinical signs (e.g., breath sounds, chest excursion, airway patency) can be
simulated using software commands for live and advanced configurations. Other airway features
include:
Hard and Soft Palate
Oropharynx
Nasopharnx
Laryngopharynx
Nasopharyngeal Intubation
