Do you have a question about the Caple CR700 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document is an instruction manual for Caple Ceramica & Ceramica Ellias island extractors, specifically models CR700, CR700SL, CR700WH, CR750CO, CR750SL, and CR750WH. These appliances are designed for domestic use to extract vapours and remove odours from cooking, operating exclusively in recirculation mode. In this mode, air and fumes are cleaned by both a grease filter and an active charcoal filter before being recirculated into the room.
The Caple island extractors serve as a cooker hood system to maintain air quality in the kitchen by filtering cooking fumes and odours. They are designed to be suspended from the ceiling above a cooking surface. The appliance operates by drawing in air, passing it through a grease filter to capture grease particles, and then through an active charcoal filter to absorb odours. The cleaned air is then released back into the kitchen.
The cooker hood is controlled via a remote control, which is equipped with five buttons for managing its functions:
The current extraction speed is indicated by an LED in the extraction perimeter channel, with different colours corresponding to different speeds:
The appliance incorporates an electronic device that automatically switches off after 4 hours of continuous operation from the last command. Furthermore, in compliance with EU65 "Energy label" and EU66 "Ecodesign" regulations, the extractors are equipped with a timer device for controlling extraction speeds when the air capacity exceeds 650m³/h. For internal motor models with maximum air capacity higher than 650m³/h, the timer automatically switches the extraction speed from 4th to 3rd speed after 5 minutes of operation. For external motor models exceeding 650m³/h at both 4th and 3rd speeds, the extraction speed automatically switches from 4th to 2nd speed after 6 minutes, or from 3rd to 2nd speed after 7 minutes. These speeds can also be manually changed during operation. The appliance is designed for low energy consumption in standby mode, less than 0.5W.
The installation process requires careful handling due to the ceramic construction of the product. It involves securing a ceiling plate, attaching the ceramic cover and suctioning element, and connecting the steel cables and power supply. The height of the product can be adjusted by scrolling the steel cables within their supports. It is crucial to ensure the hood is installed perfectly parallel to the ceiling.
The remote control comes with preset codes from the factory. If multiple Caple cooker hoods are installed in the same room, the transmission code of one system may need to be changed to prevent interference. A new transmission code can be generated by simultaneously pressing the "increase speed" and "motor ON/OFF" buttons for two seconds, then pressing the "increase speed" and "reduce speed" buttons within five seconds. After changing the code on the remote, the cooker hood's electronic central unit must learn the new code by pressing the main power-off button, restoring power, and then pressing the light button within 15 seconds. There is also a procedure to reset the remote control to its factory configuration. In case the remote control malfunctions, an emergency button on the appliance can be used to switch it off.
Safety warnings emphasize the importance of maintaining a minimum distance of 65 cm between the cooking surface and the inferior part of the cooker hood. The appliance is not intended for unsupervised use by young children or infirm persons. When evacuating extracted air, the hood can create negative pressure in the room, which must not exceed 0.04 mbar, necessitating adequate air intakes for fresh air flow. Electrical connections must be earthed, and voltage values must match those on the rating label. Disconnection from power mains is required before any cleaning or maintenance. The use of flammable materials near the appliance should be avoided, and particular attention must be paid to fire risk from oil and grease, especially when frying. The appliance should not be connected to the mains via multi-socket units or extension leads. The housing and grease filters should not be touched until the cooker hood has cooled down after cooking, as it can become very hot.
Regular and accurate maintenance is essential for the good functioning and long-lasting performance of the extractor.
