Wired Network Settings
Description of Wired Network Settings
e Wired Network Settings screen displays the current wired network
settings of the CaptionCall phone and lets you congure these settings.
ese settings are also commonly referred to as “IP address settings.”
e automatic use of DHCP (Dynamic Host Conguration Protocol) is
enabled by default. DHCP automatically assigns all of the required IP
address settings to the phone. If you are certain that you need to manually
assign an IP address, you must disable (turn o) the DHCP setting.
How to manually enter the IP address settings:
1. Touch the Automatic DHCP check box to disable DHCP. e green check
mark will then disappear from the check box, and the network setting elds
below the check box will become active.
2. Touch the eld that you want to change (such as IP Address).
3. Use the keyboard screen that will have appeared on the display to enter the
selected setting (such as IP Address).
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 as needed to change the other settings. If you do not
enter the correct settings, the phone will not be able to connect to the
network and you will be unable to make captioned phone calls.
Warning About Changing DHCP
You should not disable DHCP or change
any of the network settings unless you
have the technical knowledge required
to do so correctly.
