1. INTRODUCTION
To complete the range of controllers and open new possibilities for our customers to comply with regulations
on the energy consumption of commercial refrigeration units, Carel has developed a controller based on the
ir33+ wide platform that can drive an Embraco Fullmotion compressor.
The combination of ir33+ wide and the Embraco Fullmotion system can be used to achieve signicant energy
and OPEX reductions, with easy use and parameter setting.
This new version of controller simplies the operation of variable-speed compressors in the commercial
refrigeration market, over a whole range of applications, including:
Plug-in islands, catering and professional equipment, small cold rooms, wine coolers, bottle and ice cream
coolers and showcases.

Frequency control
To drive the Embraco Fullmotion compressor inverter, the controller requires a special frequency output.
The frequency signal is a digital square wave, with 0 to +12V voltage amplitude and dened range as described
further on. The duty cycle is 50%.
