E1: COMMUNICATION ERROR BETWEEN IDU AND ODU

2. Applicable models:
All indoor units
3. Error definition:
• Communication error between IDU and ODU (Heat Pump or Single Phase VRF)
• Communication error between IDU and MDC (Heat Recovery)
4. Possible causes:
• Abnormal power supply for ODU (Heat Pump or Single Phase VRF) or MDC (Heat Recovery)
• Communication wire is loose, shorted, opened, or improperly connected
• Damaged main board of IDU
• Damaged main board of ODU (Heat Pump or Single Phase VRF) or MDC (Heat Recovery)
• Communication cable is too long
Check whether the communication wire is
shorted, open, loose or wired incorrectly
Is there a problem with

wire in the system over 3937 feet?
Replace the main board of heat pump ODU,
Ensure correct
power supply
Reconnect the line
Reduce the length
Replace the main board of IDU.
Turn on power.
Is the “E1” error cleared
