Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause
Smoker is not plugged in
Another appliance plugged into same
circuit as the smoker
Moisture or water in controller or
electrical connecons
Door of smoker is le open.
Insucient preheat
Inappropriate extension cord.
Excess fat in meat.
Excessive cooking temperature
Grease build up
Unplug control panel connecons and reconnect. Replace Control Panel Display Kit if necessary
Unplug power board connecons and reconnect. Replace Power Board Kit if necessary
Refer to online Electrical Replacement Manual for instrucons on removal and replacement
Close door on smoker while cooking
Always use controller PH seng before cooking
Use only outdoor type with 3 prong grounding plug, rated for 15 amperes or more, approved by UL, marked with a W-A
and a tag stang “Suitable for Use with Outdoor Appliance”. Use the shortest length extension cord required. Do not
connect 2 or more extension cords together. A 12 or 14 gauge extension cord of 50 . or less is acceptable.

Do not use other electrical appliances on the same circuit
Keep all electrical connecons dry. Do not operate smoker when raining
Turn the Smoker OFF and unplug from outlet
Check or replace in this order
Replace Thermostat Kit
Replace Control Panel Display Kit
Replace Power Board Kit
Refer to online Electrical Replacement Manual for instrucons on removal and replacement
Turn the Smoker OFF and unplug from outlet
Check or replace in this order
Unplug heang element connecons and reconnect
Do not apply water to re. Personal injury may result.
Aer smoker cools, clean smoker, cooking grates, drip pan, grease tray and water pan.
Trim fat from meat before cooking
Adjust (lower) temperature as needed
Prevenon/Soluon
Plug in Smoker (beep will sound when plugged in)
Turn the Smoker OFF and unplug from outlet
Check or replace in this order
Check for tripped household circuit breakers or GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter). Reset or replace if necessary
using a GFCI rated for 15 amperes or more
Unplug thermostat connecons and reconnect. Replace Thermostat Kit if necessary
Try a known, working appliance in the outlet.
Try a dierent outlet, preferably on a dierent circuit.
Unplug thermostat connecons and reconnect. Replace Thermostat Kit if necessary
Unplug control panel connecons and reconnect. Replace Control Panel Display Kit if necessary
Unplug power board connecons and reconnect. Replace Power Board Kit if necessary
Replace heang element
Unplug thermostat connecons and reconnect. Replace Thermostat Kit if necessary
Replace Power Supply Cord Kit
Refer to online Electrical Replacement Manual for instrucons on removal and replacement
Clean smoker, cooking grates, drip pan, grease tray and water pan
Turn the Smoker OFF and unplug from outlet. Keep door open and let fire burn out.
No power
Faulty heang element
Poor electrical connecons
Faulty control panelNo display
Smoker will not cook
properly
Flare-ups
Persistent greasere Grease trapped by food build up
Smoker not heang
Circuit breaker trips
or fuse blows
Turn Smoker OFF and unplug from outlet
Check or replace in this order
Unplug smoker and plug back into outlet (beep will sound when plugged in)
