To
pause during playback from CD/DVD (NX603 only) microSD card,
USB memory, iPod/iPod video, press the rotary volume knob (NX603)
or
the IPOWERI button (FX503).
Pressing the rotary volume knob (NX603)
or
IPOWERI button (FX503) turns
the display off and pauses (if applicable) the current source.
Pressing the rotary volume knob (NX603)
or
IPOWERI button (FX503) again
turns the display on and resumes playback if it was paused.

Bluetooth connectivity on the NX603/FX503 offers more flexibility than other
Bluetooth equipped units you may have used.
Perhaps, understanding the logic
of
Bluetooth connectivity will makes
things easier. First, let's learn the difference between "PAIRING" and
"CONNECTING".
Pairing - This
is
the initial process which marries your hand held device to
our NX603/FX503 head unit. This is a one time action, once your device is
paired, you will NOT have
to
pair again.

Connecting - This is the action which takes place automatically once a
device has been paired. On power up the head unit will automatically
connect to the last device(s) it was connected to.
The NX603/FX503
is
capable
of
pairing with up to 5 devices, and can
connect with up to 2
of
these paired devices, as long as each device is
connected to a separate profile.
The
Bluetooth
profiles
available
and
description
of
each are:
Smartphone Link - Use this profile if you intend to use the Clarion
Smart Access app. This profile also incorporates the Music Only
profile. Please note, cell phone calls are not accessible from this
profile.
Hands Free Only
(HFP
- Hands Free
Profile)-
Use this profile if you
wish to only use the cell phone calling functions
of
your Bluetooth
connected device. Please note, you cannot stream audio from this
profile.
Music
Only-
Use this profile to connect a device you would like to
stream audio from. Please note, cell phone calls are not accessible
from this profile.
Things
to
know:
Before pairing/connecting a device to the NX603/FX503, there are a couple
of
things you should know.
1. Which profile do you want to use.
2. What to expect to see from the head unit to confirm you have
successfully established pairing and connecting process.
When connecting to "Smartphone Link"
or
"Hands Free Only" there are
no special tricks. With either
of
these profiles, the head unit will connect
automatically when it is turned ON and the device
is
within range.
When connecting
to
the "Music Only" profile however, you wi
ll
notice that
the head unit will momentarily display the music note. This identifies that the
device and the head unit are connected, BUT the symbol will quickly turn
OFF.
This is normal. The Music Only profile automatically connects to your
device when the Bluetooth Audio source is selected on the NX603/FX503.
While the head unit
is
in
any other mode, the Music Only profile remains
disconnected.
