What to do if Clear-Com Tempest 900 Intercom System BeltStation will not log into BaseStation?
    • A
      Alicia MerrittJul 31, 2025
If your Clear-Com Intercom System BeltStation won't log into the BaseStation, verify that the BeltStation is powered on and has sufficient battery charge. Ensure that the correct BaseStation is selected in the BeltStation’s “Select Base” menu and that there is an available slot on the BaseStation. Also, check the Static and Dynamic slot display settings on the BaseStation, and if Static is selected, verify the BeltStation slot assignment. Determine if any other BeltStation is already logged onto the BaseStation. If issues persist, try re-pairing the BeltStation to the BaseStation or attempt logging into another BaseStation if available. As a last resort, you can follow the memory reset procedure under “Factory Defaults”.

How to improve the RF range of Clear-Com Tempest 900 Intercom System?
    • D
      douglas24Aug 10, 2025
To improve the limited RF range of your Clear-Com Intercom System, confirm that the BaseStation antenna or transceiver is appropriately located and oriented. Ensure that antennas or transceivers are not near metal structures or racks; keep the BaseStation and its antenna away from potentially interfering devices. Securely connect all antenna connections, and use a low loss 50 ohm coax cable no longer than 25 feet if remotely locating antennas. If using multiple Tempest BaseStations nearby, utilize Accu-Sync for maximum performance and set the Network Number for each BaseStation at least four numbers apart.

Why does my Clear-Com Tempest 900 Intercom System headset microphone sound distorted?
    • D
      Deanna WashingtonAug 15, 2025
If your Clear-Com Intercom System headset microphone sounds distorted or cuts off parts of words, it could be due to the microphone gain setting. If the gain is too low, the audio may sound choppy, clipping the beginning of words. If the gain is too high, the audio may sound distorted, especially at higher volumes, and the peak LED will light almost continuously when audio is present.

    • T
      Todd NunezNov 4, 2025
If your Clear-Com Intercom System BeltStation won't pair with the BaseStation, first confirm that the BaseStation is powered ON and in Operational Mode, and the BeltStation is powered OFF. Connect the pairing cable from the BaseStation to the BeltStation, then turn the BeltStation power ON. The pairing process takes approximately four seconds. If pairing fails, try pairing a different BeltStation with the BaseStation or substitute a new pairing cable. If a BeltStation successfully pairs, try restoring the memory settings to Factory Defaults on the problematic BeltStation, or clear the memory to delete all memory settings, pairings, and user settings. If no BeltStation pairs with the BaseStation, reset the BaseStation memory to “Factory Defaults” or select “Clear Memory” to fully reset the ...

If you cannot hear one or more channels of a hard wired intercom on your Clear-Com Intercom System, first set the front panel headset to monitor the intercom channel in question and ensure the Talk button is enabled for the front panel headset. Adjust the headset volume to a comfortable listening level. Confirm the channel is working wirelessly from the BaseStation to a BeltStation, and that the wired system is working correctly independently of the Tempest Wireless system. If using a 2-Wire external wired intercom system, ensure the 2-Wire Intercom Type Select Switches are correctly positioned for your hard wired system type. Verify that the correct 2-Wire or 4-Wire LED is lit for the intercom channel you are using. Adjust the IN and OUT levels for the appropriate intercom channel to achi...
