      A locked-up handset where the buttons do not respond can be caused by a handset malfunction, loose terminals or corrosion in the vehicle batteries, improperly wired vehicle batteries, failed vehicle batteries, vehicle batteries that are not fully charged, or a speed controller malfunction. Disconnect the CDT cord from the vehicle, wait a few seconds, and then reconnect the handset to the vehicle to address a handset malfunction.
