  If the hook on your CM Chain Hoists moves in the wrong direction, here are a few things to check: * For single-phase units, wiring connections may be reversed at the control station or terminal board. Compare the connections to the wiring diagram. * Also for single-phase units, the motor reversing switch might fail to effect dynamic braking at the time of reversal. Check the connections to the switch and replace any damaged or faulty capacitor. * For three-phase units, there may be a phase reversal.

Open or shorted motor winding, loose or broken wire in circuit, speed selecting contactor stuck in opposite speed mode. Replace motor, repair wire and/or replace speed selecting contactor. * There could be an open speed selecting circuit due to a winding issue, loose connection, mechanical binding, or control station contact problems. Replace the speed selector, repair the connection, replace the contactor or control station. * There could be a phase failure. Check for electrical continuity and repair or replace defective part.
