Carburettor settings
The carburettor has been factory adjusted for optimum power.
Storage
• The fuel tank and carburettor should not be left filled with petrol over thewinter, as this could lead to
startingproblems.
• Empty thefuel tank by starting theengine and letting it run until it is out offuel.
• Clean thetrimmer before putting it away for storage.
• Fit theblade guard onto thebrush cutter blade.
• Store thetrimmer in adry, dust-free environment out of thereach of children.
Troubleshooting guide
Problem Cause
The engine won’t start or
only runs at lowspeed.
• Incorrect starting procedure. Readtheinstruction manual.
• Faulty spark plug. Cleanor change thesparkplug.
• Dirt in thecarburettor. Getaqualified technician to clean thecarburettor.
• Clogged fuel filter. Changethefuel filter (inside thefuel tank).
The engine starts but with
loss ofpower.
• Wrong choke setting. Openthechoke.
• Dirty air filter. Cleanor change theair filter.
• Dirt in thecarburettor. Getaqualified technician to clean thecarburettor.
The engine doesn’t respond
to thethrottle.
• Engine not adequately warmed up. Allowtheengine to idle for aminute.
Loss of power underload. • Faulty spark plug. Cleanor change thesparkplug.
The engine runs irregularly. • Dirt in thecarburettor. Getaqualified technician to clean thecarburettor.
