14. When planing large materials: make sure that thematerial has table-high support when feeding and outflowing.
15. Never start theplane when materials are touching thecutter.
16. Check before planing that thematerial has no nails and other metal objects which could damage
theplaneirons.
17. Make sure before starting that theplane irons are securely placed in thecutter according to theinstructions
in this manual.
18. Always allow thecutter to reach full power before feeding in materials.
19. If during planing theplane shows any likelihood of tipping, sliding around or begins to move off its base: stop
planing and securely screw theplane to thebase.
20. Do not plane objects that are shorter than 250 mm, narrower than 19 mm, wider than 204 mm or thinner
than 5mm.
21. Make sure that work surfaces are tidy before leaving theplane.
22. Switch power to OFF and pull out electrical cable plugs from thesocket if there is something missing from
theplane or if something is damaged; likewise if something in theelectrical system is not working properly.
Replace faulty or damaged parts before planing again.
23. Adjust thecutter cover so that it covers thewhole cutter apart from thematerial being planed.
Special warning instructions for this model
• Check regularly that theplane irons and iron holders are securely in place in thecutter.
• The maximum protrusion allowed for irons’ cutting edge outside thecutter: 1 mm (± 10 %).
• Never remove anything from themachine’s cover, other than for servicing.
• Set in place thecovers and secure them before starting themachine.
• Connect ashavings extractor to theextraction hood on theplane.
• The machine should only be connected to anearthed socket.
• Check regularly that thereverse gear locks are clean and moveable.
• Always wear protective goggles.
• Never take anedge larger than 2mm.
