several factors among which the main ones are: terrain general characteristics,
peanut characteristics, moisture and Combine moving speed.
Carefully fulll all topics below.
4.1 - Soil characteristics
A - Surface evenness
More even is the soil surface, less will be the pod loss and
better will be machine running during pickup.
Every crop, during soil preparation, try to make surface even
getting rid of unevenness.
B - Moisture conditions
Do not wait for all the product in furrows to get to an ideal
and even moisture level to gather it. Start picking up with
the moisture level a little higher than the ideal one because
the product dries along the process. Avoid getting to the
end of the work with the material much dry because it can
cause break and loss of pods.
By the way, moisture conditions change along the day. Early
in the morning, there is the dew inuence which increases
the moisture of the product and delays the beginning of
the threshing.
According to the region, pickup starts only after 10:00,
11:00 or even 12:00 o’clock.
