8. MAINTENANCE
The machine does not call for particular lubrica-
tion since all rotating parts are self-lubricating.
It is a good idea to periodically check the condi-
tion of the power supply cords and replace them
if they are broken, or even worse if the internal
wires are showing.
Always keep the machine handgrip clean to pre-
vent accidental slipping during use.
It is important to keep the supporting surfac-
es and guide squares clean by equipping the
machine with a suction system; the machine
features a special conveyor and an attachment
for this purpose.
Keep the area around the machine clean in order
to prevent tripping and falling on the machine
After use, thoroughly clean the machine with a
blast of air or a dry paintbrush. Remove glue or
any materials that may have deposited on the
work tables.
To ensure effective machine operation, check
the condition of the blade daily and sharpen it
whenever necessary.
Every 15 days, check the transmission belts
for slacking in accordance to the procedure de-
scribed in the following paragraph.
Every 15 days, check blade stopping time with
a stop watch. If stopping time is longer than 10
seconds, perform the adjustments described in
the following paragraph.
CAUTION! Falling on the machine can lead
to serious bodily harm further to contact
with machine parts.
BEFORE EACH CUTTING OPERATION, CHECK
THAT:
Blades are in good condition.
Blades are secured in place.
Turntables are secured in place.
There are no obstacles preventing movement of
saw arms.
There are no obstacles preventing movement of
mobile unit.
Workpiece is clamped in place.
Buttons are working.
8.1 Fitting and/or replacing the blade
CAUTION! Always wear protective gaunt-
lets and always unplug the machine before
performing these operations.
CAUTION! The tool must be replaced when
the cutting edge becomes blunt.
CAUTION! The blade torque wrench set-
ting is 15 Nm using a class 8.8 screw.
This operation must be performed with particular
care so as not to compromise correct machine oper-
ation and safe working conditions.
To replace the blade:
Remove the sawdust conveyor at the top of the
machine by loosening the screw that secures it
to the xed guard (g. 4).
Remove backstop A (g. 5) that secures the
head of the rod to ring B (g. 5).
Take the rod head out of its seat by applying a
light pressure and place the rod on the base.
Unscrew and remove backstop C (g. 5) that
establishes the end of the opening stroke.
Operate blade guard release button A (g.4) and
turn the blade guard by hand until it disappears
inside the xed guard.
In the FC 300 RAP version, the blade guard
turns freely inside the casing; to prevent it
swinging, fasten it with a backstop thus
leaving the blade entirely uncovered
(g. 6).
First remove screw A that fastens the belt casing,
then remove belt cover B (g. 9).
Lock the blade in place by inserting an Allen
wrench on the opposite side of the blade shaft.
Turn both wrenches at the same time and in op-
posite directions, bearing in mind that the blade
xing screw is a left hand screw (to be turned
clockwise).
Unscrew the blade xing screw and ange by
turning them clockwise (left hand screw).
Loosen the blade xing screw and the outer
ange.
Take the blade off the blade shaft.
efore retting the blade, accurately clean all
ange surfaces.
